Dr. Zhang received his MD from Peking Union Medical College, Tsinghua University, where his work focused on improving the microenvironments of myocardial infarction. After graduation, Dr. Zhang completed his residency and cardiac fellowship in Fuwai Hospital.

He then pursued Postdoctoral training at Stanford University in Joseph Wu’s lab. There he has developed antifibrotic therapies using human iPSC platforms, animal models, and in silico-based drug development.
