Yang earned her master degree from Illinois Institute of Technology. Next, at Wayne State University School of Medicine, she acquired expertise in mammalian stem cells and regenerative medicine.

Yang then joined Stanford University in 2017 in Joseph Wu’s lab specializing in “clinical trial in a dish” and cardiovascular disease modeling using human induced pluripotent cells (iPSCs). Yang enjoys gardening, knitting, and gemology.
